I started listening to the samples at IOEarth by IOEarth and before the first track sample faded I was downloading the album. I'm now listening to the album as I write this review, and tears of joy are rolling down my cheeks. My only regret is that I didn't apply for the full three day tickets at the Summerfest at Lydney, where I would have been able to hear them live - I didn't know what I /5(16).

This is symphonic progressive rock on a grand scale. The album is 2 full CD's, but there is not a lot of filler. Instrumentally these guys are all over the place which ranges from purely symphonic to almost metal at times. The album uses several different vocalists which at times reminds me of something the Alan Parsons Project might do/5(11).

I first heard IO Earth on a sampler CD from Prog magazine, and was impressed enough to seek out the first album. On the whole this is excellent, though it does descend into AOR blandness on occasions (Come With Me and Take Me in particular)the Islamic samples on /5(7).

The brainchild of long time friends and writing duo Dave Cureton and Adam Gough, IO Earth came into being as a challenge they gave themselves to write an album of music that was truly unique. That album exploded onto the progressive rock scene in and was instantly branded one of the most important releases of the decade.
